Important: this is a host-managed SMR (zoned) drive. The Ultrastar DC HC680 27TB uses UltraSMR recording and exposes zoned block storage. It must be used with a Linux host and a zoned-aware file system or application. It is not a drop-in replacement for a conventional CMR drive: do not specify it for Windows, NVR/DVR, or hardware RAID arrays that expect a standard block device.
For the right workload — sequential writes, archive tiers and Linux-based zoned storage — the capacity is the point. At 27TB per 3.5-inch slot it reduces spindle count and chassis space for a given capacity, while the SATA 6Gb/s interface keeps it compatible with standard SATA backplanes.
We currently hold approximately 300 pcs of this model as new sealed stock (stock figure updated 2 November 2026). Send the quantity and destination country for a quote; condition and warranty terms are stated on the quotation line.
Before you order, confirm: host OS (Linux required), file system / application support for zoned block devices, and whether the array exposes drives as standard block devices (it must not be used in hardware RAID that expects CMR behaviour).
