FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Ordering, condition, testing, shipping and compatibility questions we receive most often. If your question is not here, send it with the part number and we will answer directly.
How do I order — is there an online checkout?
No. We quote by part number: send the model or part number, quantity and destination country, and we reply with stock, condition and pricing within one business day. Pricing changes with volume, condition and market, which is why there is no static price list.
Why are prices not shown on the website?
Enterprise drive pricing moves with market supply, condition and quantity. A published list would be out of date the same week and misleading for both sides. Every quote states the condition and the terms for the specific line items you asked about.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
There is no fixed MOQ for most models — single-digit quantities are fine for evaluation or a one-off replacement. Pricing improves at volume, and mixed part numbers can ship in one consignment to save freight.
What do “new”, “new-pull” and “refurbished” mean?
New — factory-sealed, unused, with manufacturer warranty where applicable. New-pull — removed from new equipment without being put into service. Refurbished — tested, health-checked and wiped, covered by our warranty. Condition is stated on every quotation line and never mixed silently.
Can you provide SMART and test reports before I buy?
Yes, per serial number for used and refurbished stock: SMART dump, surface scan result and wipe confirmation. See Testing & QC for what is available and what testing does not cover.
Will a non-OEM firmware drive work in my NetApp, Dell EMC or HPE array?
Usually not without warnings. These arrays validate drive firmware and can reject the disk or raise persistent alerts when the firmware is not their OEM revision. Send the array model and we match drives with the correct OEM firmware, not just the base part number.
How do I know whether I need SATA or SAS?
It depends on the backplane, not on preference. A SAS backplane accepts SATA drives; a SATA backplane never accepts SAS. Confirm the interface from the server or shelf documentation, or send us the model and we will check before quoting.
Is this drive CMR or SMR?
We state the recording technology per part number before quoting. For RAID, NAS and random-write workloads, CMR is the requirement; SMR is suitable only for sequential, archive-style use. If a listing does not state it, ask — do not assume.
What warranty do you provide?
12 months unless agreed otherwise, stated on the quotation. Warranty covers the drive against failure under normal use; it does not cover array compatibility issues caused by OEM firmware validation. See Warranty & shipping.
What shipping terms do you offer?
DDP or EXW, confirmed on the quotation depending on destination. Tracking is shared after dispatch. If you have a preferred forwarder or need consolidated shipping with other part numbers, include it in the request.
Can you source a model that is not listed on the site?
Yes. The catalog shows current listings, not the full range. Send the part number — we source to order and confirm availability, condition and lead time. If you only have a capacity and workload requirement, send that instead and we will propose matching options.
Do you sell to end users or only to businesses?
We supply data centres, system integrators, resellers and ITAD projects. Small evaluation orders are accepted; volume pricing is quoted per requirement.
How is my enquiry data handled?
